由 Cygames 於 2011 年推出的手機遊戲《巴哈姆特之怒》，自從 2014 年由動畫監督さとうけいいち、人物設計師恩田尚之共同率領「MAPPA」團隊來改編電視動畫版《神撃のバハムート GENESIS》之後過了兩年多，正統續篇《神撃のバハムート VIRGIN SOUL》在邀來新任編劇大石静的執筆下，也將在今（2017）年 4 月 7 日播出啦！

本片的世界觀雖然和原作遊戲一樣，可是動畫劇情是原創路線。故事接續著前作《GENESIS》，包含爆炸頭主人公法瓦羅、死靈法師小*塔、錘子頭騎士凱撒、聖女貞德、墮天使阿撒謝勒，以及時常打醬油看好戲的一人一鴨「神」組合巴克科斯 & 漢薩，全都凱旋回歸啦！

　　到了本片則會新增兩位主角，他們分別是天真活潑的賞金獵人美少女ニーナ，以及剛剛繼任為王的夏利歐斯十七世。兩人相比之下，ニーナ渾身上下洋溢著光明的氣息，然而這位新國王卻似乎比前作《GENESIS》那個縱情酒色的老祖公「夏利歐斯十三世」還要更陰險、更冷酷；他不畏神明、不怕惡魔，甚至企圖使用『禁忌之力』來胡作非為……

本片將在 2017 年 4 月 7 日首播，並繼續由作曲家池頼広指揮配樂，所以屆時就能再度聆賞到大型交響樂團的恢弘樂音啦！（這裡有他在 GENESIS 的指揮演奏照片）回到故事本身，究竟那個比起『神魔之鍵』還要恐怖的禁忌之力是什麼？難道人界、神界、魔界之間又要爆發一場末日戰爭了嗎？你們不妨一邊欣賞雷霆萬鈞的預告片、一邊好好期待囉！
